Xie Kaishou is the director of the Sino-Metals Leach Zambia Limited that refines 4700 tons of copper each year, some of which he is standing on, at Chambishi in the Copperbelt region of Zambia. The refining plant has started operating in 2006 as a branch of the Chinese copper giant Nonferrous Metal Mining Company. Within a hostile contest towards the Chinese investors, Xie Kaishou pleases himself of running a company that he affirms is « scientifically harmonious ». He refers to his 320 Zambian workers as to « sons and daughters » and he aspects from them « proof of loyalty, diligence, restrain and a desire to improve ».
