930. Congo, Conkouati National Park, 2007

In the Cotovindou logging concession, deep down in the forest, the Congolese workers for the Chinese timber company Sicofor are not feed by their employers. So the day they log the trees and the night they hunt the forest for bush meat they feed on. As a consequence the impact on the world’s second rain forest is even more devastating. Here the catch is a small antelope (blue duiker, cephalophus monticola). Its eyes shine at night, which makes it a relatively easy prey for the hunters that attach a flashlight to their heads.
